Partners and People
We’re a community-based partnership serving the people of Boulder County.

St. Benedict Health and Healing Ministry is a member of The Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved.

St. Benedict Health and Healing Ministry (SBHHM) is a Colorado non-profit organization and a Diocesan Institution in the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. We strive to bring together in common mission, faith based communities to address the critical issue of health care in Boulder County. SBHHM partners with local and regional health care and human services agencies in an effort to meet the needs of the 30,000 uninsured people in Boulder County.

St. Benedict Health and Healing Ministry is a faith-based organization, drawing on the Benedictine spirituality values of hospitality and compassion. Although we are faith based, we are completely non denominational in our outreach. All are welcome!

Since the Spring 2005, our congregation participation has included: St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, St. Ambrose Episcopal Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, and Church of the Resurrection.

In June 2005, St. Benedict Health and Health and Healing Ministry began its health care outreach in Boulder County with its first Free Clinic at Sister Carmen Community Center.

In Fall 2005, SBHHM opened its second Free Clinic at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

In September 2007. we received a grant from Rose Community Foundation which enabled us to hire a grant writer and expand our funding base.

In October 2007, Rev. Sally Bowersox, our executive director, attended the first session of the “Clergy Leadership Project,” a two-year program sponsored by Trinity Wall Street, an Episcopal Church and Foundation in New York City. Participants explore innovative ideas in science, culture, organizational theory, and congregational studies to develop strong leadership for the mission of the Church in the 21st century.
